How do we edit and customise an advice report cover letter?

Easily customise the following available advice report cover letter templates to suit your firm's preferences

Members with Core subscriptions (Lite and Pro) can conveniently edit the default content used in the cover letters for the following advice reports using Letters (Merge) 

  • Trust Distributions
  • FBT Reports
  • TaxPlan
  • Progress

Here's how:

Step 1: Update the relevant letter template

  • First select the Category as per the table below

  • Then select the corresponding letter template from the list

  • Edit the letter template as required
  • Important Note: The letter templates include dynamic database fields or "merge fields". These are values which are automatically updated or calculated from available data. We don't recommend users remove or overwrite these but are welcome to change any of the supporting text or of course add new content.

Pro Tip: When you copy text from MS Word or other sources, use right click > Paste as Plain Text only. Learn more
  • Apply the required styling and be sure to save your changes
Optional: add other dynamic database or tag values available from the available library of Merge fields. Copy the "Field Column" value to use it in your template.

Step 2: From within the app module update or reload the cover letter

  • Navigate to the relevant app and start a new report wizard or load a previously saved file 
  • On the Content tab where the cover letter is presented, use the Reload Content button to fetch the updated version of the template.

  • At any time users can revert back to the default ChangeGPS letter content
